The Vancouver games are over, but for local students, the games began today.

Students, parents and teachers gathered on the lawn at the San Luis Obispo Classical Academy.

They played games like hula- hoop, and even some archery for the older kids. It was all to wrap up the student's recent history lesson in ancient Greece. It might seem like all fun, but teachers say it's all part of the process.

"When they actually live a character and have to write about a character and be that character," Director Susie Theule said, "or do something that they did during those times, it really helps the kids digest the history and make it matter to them which makes them far more likely to carry it on through the future."

This won't be the last time the students get to act out history. Events like these happen every three months at the academy.

Kids love being a part of the exciting atmosphere at Nebraska women's basketball games. The booster club, Lil' Breakers, gives kids a chance to be involved with basketball.

As Lil' Breakers, students in kindergarten through eighth grade can enjoy special seating at Husker home games. Members receive free admission to the women's basketball games, a free t-shirt, a free clinic with the players, a movie night and much more.

Lil' Breaker team leaders say the club encourages kids to succeed in school, do their best in activities and to learn about good sportsmanship.
